Dash Snow Studio Tour

dash.jpgNY Glob takes an exclusive stroll around the studio space of Dash Snow and notes, “It’s always intriguing to get a peek into the process.” However, the process doesn’t involve the usual piss and cum so the studio tour is not only exclusive but safe for work.

Dash Snow Inspires Artist Following

Dash_Snow.jpg

Be it homage or publicity stunt, it’s amusing that someone was so inspired by Dash Snow’s art and antics that they created a portrait of him with their own urine and semen. It’s just disappointing that they went so far as to urinate and ejaculate on the canvas, but didn’t party, paint graffiti, or do drugs like him. We’re just saying this exploration of Dash’s identity is a little incomplete, and that his roommates are probably glad he peed in a kiddy pool and not the wood floor.

Be sure to check out the really unexciting Polaroids of the Dash Snow portrait on the website.

Semen, Skulls, Sex, Drugs and Infamy

dan-colen-ryan-mcginley-dash-snow.jpg

Gather around the fire because New York Magazine has a story to sell. This week’s tale, Chasing Dash Snow, is the story of Dan Colen, Ryan McGinley, and Dash Snow, artists of the so-called “Bowery School” of art. It’s an interesting read, but the article’s search for an explanation of Dash Snow and his work only comes up short and rehashes a old news, so we’ll just side with IRAK crew’s own review, penned by Kunle: “A great big wack story, unless you’re Dan or Ryan, then you came out smelling like roses.”

Rather than sharing some colorful anecdote about Dash, as we’ve done in the past, we’re borrowing another example of Kunle’s on point wordsmanship from the article.

Kunle was there, too; a camera crew making a show about him for the Sundance Channel trailed his every move. A little white kid in a baseball hat came up to him and Kunle said, “You had a smart mouth, and that’s why you got smacked the other day. I’m Earsnot and you’re Naw: Don’t forget it.” Simon Curtis, out of jail and in a tie-dyed T-shirt, laughed at this.

And we’re laughing too.

Dash Max Snow’s New Girlfriend: Mary-Kate Olsen

dash-snow-mary-kate-olsen.jpg

It seems Max Snow Dash Snow has found a new lady friend in Mary-Kate Olsen. We don’t see his attraction. Mary-Kate’s acting has sucked ever since “The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of the U.S. Space Camp Mission.” However, we’re sure they have a few common interests. It’s not hard to imagine their agitated conversation continuing well after the sun has come up.

Edit: On closer inspection Dash Snow is not dating Mary-Kate Olsen. It’s doubtful Mary-Kate could handle a dude who plays “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” at parties and threatens to pee on the incensed party-goers.

Modeling Ain’t Easy

dash-snow-polaroid-artist.jpg

Artist, Dash Snow, is back modeling AG Jeans for easy money. After so many sleepless nights, it probably feels great to curl up in the fetal position and stare at the wall for a day or three.

In other cocaine news, Rick James received a new tombstone on the second anniversary of his death.

Dash Snow, the New Face of AG Jeans

dash-snow-adriano-goldschmied.jpg

Within the immaterial Lucky Magazine is artist, Dash Snow modeling in an ad for Adriano Goldschmied. Consider that this is the man who takes photos with a camera “made of wood, palm leaves and cocaine” and creatively combined newspaper clippings and semen in ‘Fuck the Police’. In his own words from Paper Magazine:

I’m not a businessman. [But] my business used to be and still is thievery, to some extent. I came across a camera, which I thieved when I was 16 and started taking pictures. I’ve been partying for years, probably since I was 11. I did my first line of coke when I was 13 years old and I’ve been partying every night and taking pictures ever since. Everything’s a blur and every night is New Year’s as far as I’m concerned. [When I’m at a party, I look for] a dark corner, a wallet, a bag of blow and some love to go.

Though we don’t question Dash Snow’s motives for taking the job ($30,000 is a nice bit of scratch), we do question Adriano Goldschmied’s reasons for choosing Snow and barely showing off the jeans.
